Ps. Check out all of the 12 Days of Christmas Tops.
October is the month of months – perfect weather: it’s cool but you don’t need a jacket, it’s warm but you don’t sweat profusely. Fall flavors: pumpkin, apple, cinnamon. Fall clothes: jeans, vests, long sleeve shirts. And Halloween! Kids talk about for months and months what they’re going to be, you find the perfect costume to buy (or make) and then they wait and wait to wear it. There are a few costume-optional events leading up to Halloween (for example we went to Davis Farmland’s weekly Halloween party last weekend and it was great!) but really it’s a painful month of waiting excitement leading up to the one big night. To help things along I’ve picked up a couple cute Halloween clothes for my kiddos to wear all month to get a little of their Halloween fix in. Here’s a round-up of some really cute options. That pumpkin shirt from Target was like $5 or something, definitely snag one before they sell out!
1. Zara Boo dress (Zara has tons of adorable, non-traditional Halloween clothes for kids, check out the whole line!) 2. Target neon orange pumpkin shirt 3. H&M Bat bow tie 4. Old Navy Halloween undies 5. GAP onesie (teething is scary especially when it wakes your baby up at 5am every day for a month…eeeeeek!) 6. Zara ghost pants 7. GAP Halloween socks 8. H&M ghost dress 9. Zara costume party top
I got a couple emails asking about our outfits in the holiday photos I shared earlier this week so I thought I’d put together a post of what the kids wore. I always love to put together holiday outfits for Z and was so excited to now have Baby M this year and the challenge of finding coordinating outfits for them – not too matchy patchy but definitely meant to go together. The first step was finding Z’s dress. She is really into girlie, frilly dresses lately and when I saw this dress by Joyfolie on super clearance on Gilt (I got it for less than $10!) I knew that was her Christmas dress. I also knew I wanted Baby M to be all gussied up in suspenders and a bowtie because, well, what’s cuter than that? So then I found this amazing woman on etsy who makes bows, bowties, and knits beautiful scarves (one of her scarves is definitely on my Christmas list this year!). I loved the tomato plaid for a pretty red and placed my order. I changed out the pink ribbon for red on Z’s dress and then found red sweaters for them both. And well, you know the rest – you’ve seen the photos! Ps. Hover below for links! You probably know that, but thought I’d share as the linked words are not quite as obvious on my new blog design.
Spring weather cannot make up its mind, around here anyway. One day it’s warm enough for sandals and no jacket, the next day it’s freezing and mittens are necessary, and the third day it’s pouring buckets. How do you dress for such a varied climate? I have put together an outfit of pieces that will take you to from warm to cold to rain. Just don’t forget your rain jacket if it’s raining!
1. Pocket cardigan from Madewell; 2. Patterned tank from H&M; 3. Neon stone necklace from J. Crew ; 4. Colorful saddle flap crossbody bag from Urban Outfitters; 5. J. Crew toothpick jean in neon violet (everything is 25% off at J. Crew right now!); 6. HUE shoe liner (you don’t want to wear socks with ankle length pants and oxfords!); and 7. Isaac Mizrahi Oletta Oxford Shoes (I own these and they’re amazing and good in the rain! I get compliments every time I wear them.).
Florals are everywhere right now, have you noticed? You can *literally* get any form of fashion in a floral pattern right now. I personally think we should all tread lightly with this floral trend but there are some pieces that are just lovely. Here’s a little round up of some florals that I’ve been coveting and next week I’ll have a “What to Wear – Florals” to share.
Loeffler Randall Lock Clutch Tucker Floral with Graphic Printed Fabric from Piperlime
H&M Floral jacket (only $30!)
7 For All Mankind Cropped Skinny Jeans tropical paradise from Shopbop

And my husband with these floral cufflinks from Zara
To me, Easter Sunday, no matter when it falls on the calendar, is always an excuse to get dolled up in spring-y clothes. This year, even though we’ll be celebrating in about a week and there will (most likely) be snow on the ground, I am still dawning an outfit fit for a spring afternoon. I showed you last week what our Z will be wearing, so now it’s my turn!
1. Smocked crepe blouse from Old Navy; 2. Belle Fleur Statement Collar from kate spade; 3. Dark blue spring-weight coat from H&M; 4. Grey polka dot pants, old, from Anthro; 5. Easter Lilly; 6. Colorful floral Nine West shoes from Zappos; and 7. Jewel in the Rough Pouch from Anthro.
