Cold Weather Must-Haves – Scarves

It’s been downright arctic in my neck of the woods lately – what about you? I have found over the years that the more appropriately dressed I am the less the cold bothers me. Gone are the days when I wear my ballet flats year-round (cold ankles!). I also think you really get used to bitter temps. That first terribly cold November day feels like your you will never stop shivering but by January you’re like “eh, what’s 20 degrees, no big deal.” Personally I find the more I’m outside the quicker my body gets used to the cold temps. All of that said… I have some cold weather must-haves that I love and I thought I’d share with you in the next few weeks. This week, everyone’s winter MUST – a scarf! I love a cozy scarf and here are a few that I have and love or are on my “list.”

1. This kate spade Saturday Cableknit Pocket Scarf is genius! You don’t necessarily need gloves, you can just use the little pockets at the bottom of the scarf. 2. A chunky scarf. I love the scarves made by etsy seller LuluLoves. 3. Blanket scarves are all the rage this winter – they’re perfect for travel too when you start off needing a scarf and can convert to a blanket to get even cozier. I like this plaid one from Amazon of all places. There are a million way to wear these, just search on Pinterest. 4. Nothing better than the classic Burberry scarf. I’ve had mine for years and still wear it all the time. 5. Nothing says cozy more than fur. This Toscana shearling infinity scarf from J. Crew could be worn with everything all winter.

What are your favorite scarves?

kate spade Saturday and West Elm

I’m a day late since this collaboration officially launched yesterday, but have you seen the kate spade Saturday and West Elm collaboration? It’s so fun. I’ve loved Saturday since it launch a couple years ago and have a dress and their infamous weekender bag (my hubby got me one for Christmas!). I find the design prints of Saturday interesting and colorful, 2 adjectives I appreciate in both my style and home decor. Saturday has a few housewares so it only makes sense they’d team up with someone like West Elm to take home decor a few steps further. I’ve shared some of my favorite items below but you can check out the entire collection here.

The Anders Chair in kate spade Saturday floral print. I want to decorate an entire room around this chair.

kate spade Saturday Small Scale Maze Dhurrie Rug. This is the quintessential ks Saturday print and I love that made it into a rug! I have a dress in this print, too.

They make this kate spade Saturday Globe Table Lamp in a floor lamp too but I think it would look so adorable on a desk, right?

They also have tons of artwork that I found to be slightly overpriced, but this one made me smile. #iwish

Raise your hand if you’re traveling at all with the upcoming holidays!!!!

I haven’t done an outfit post like this in forever – honestly I love doing them but they take a long time to put together and with 2 wee ones who seem to always be in need, my time is not my own and certainly not this blog’s either… BUT! I’ve had my eye on a few things online that I really wanted to share so I decided to round up a little outfit for any upcoming holiday travel you may have this winter.  What will you be wearing?

What to Wear – As a Tourist

While we’re in being tourists in the fabulous city of London this week I thought I’d share with you my thoughts on what to wear while you’re being a tourist. When you’re traveling to a place like London, you know you’ll be out and about all day visiting museums, parks, famous stores (Harrod’s!!), all the while trying to look great because you’ll be posing for tons of photos, trying to be comfortable because you’ll be walking miles, and trying to be dressed for the weather – which – in a place like London is a giant variable.  SO! With all that in mind, here is what I’ll be wearing while being a tourist this week in London. Seeya later mate (trying to fit in a little)!

What-to-wear-as-a-tourist

1. I am addicted to my chambray, similar to this from Madewell so I will absolutely be wearing it a lot on this trip; 2. A cute baseball cap from kate spade Saturday if it’s sunny and you need to protect your face; 3. A necklace because you still want to accessorize while you’re being a tourist! I love this one from Topshop for a pop of color; 4. You should always carry an umbrella in London, it might as well be cute like this one from Anthropologie; 5. A white tank for under my chambray – these BP double scoop neck tanks from Nordstrom are my fave; 6. I love a bright pant – and they look so great with chambray tops, especially in your vacay photos! I love these Toothpick jeans in Fresh Purple from J. Crew; 7. Our good camera – the Nikon D60 for all our photo taking; 8. ;My favorite Silver Sparkle Converse sneakers – the perfect urban sneaker for a gal who loves sparkle and comfort; and 9. A crossbody bag to hold all your stuff and wear comfortably all day. I have one the same shape and size as this kate spade bag and it’s perfect for travel.

Delicate Bracelets

I have been really into delicate bracelets lately. I think they are just great for layering all together and you can add something chunky to your wrist to wear with them as well. You’ve seen what delicate bracelets I wear as my daily bracelets that are my “base” so to speak, but here are some others I’ve been pining after:

Delicate-bracelets

1. kate spade Saturday‘s Skinny Rectangle Bracelet. How cute is this? And it comes in six different colors; 2. Of course Alex and Ani bracelets are perfect for layering, I have one similar to this one with my Z’s birthstone; 3. Anthropologie‘s Marina Wrap bracelet. I love that this is so delicate! And it’s a nautical theme, which I think is perfect for summer; 4. Jewelry from Dogeared is so delicate and simple it’s made for layering. Here is their classic and bestselling Karma bracelet; 5. Shopbop has a huge collection of delicate bracelets, if you’re in the market. I love this Bloom Disk Bracelet from Gorjana with a tiny bit of color.
