I need a new scent. I was cleaning out this little basket of cosmetics I have and found a free sample (from who knows when or what) of Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell cologne and I just love it! I went through the sample in a matter of weeks – and I don’t wear perfume very often with working from home and all. And I certainly don’t wear perfume when I’m playground hopping with my Z. But – there are occasions when I’d love a little spritz: date night with my husband, meeting friends for dinner, or heading out to a fun blogger event.
I almost bought the Jo Malone scent on our trip to London earlier this summer (it is an English brand after all), but I couldn’t pull the trigger, I wasn’t sure if Wild Bluebell was the one… I wish you could scratch and sniff on a blog – I need advice! What do you wear? Do you have any scent suggestions for me? What perfume should I pick?

I’ve been wearing Light Blue by D&G forever (10+ yrs) My friends tell me it’s become my signature scent But I’m on the hunt for a new perfume and it’s not easy. I recently tried Bulgari’s Omnia Crystalline which I liked but I’m not quite sure it’s “me”. I think it’s interesting that you save your perfume for special times. I wear perfume everyday, it’s like an accessory I have to wear in order to feel dressed. Sorry, I’ve been no help! I will say that Nordstroms is a great place to sample perfumes. They sell this little spritzer for $10 that they’ll fill with your choice of perfume. It’s a great way to test drive a scent 🙂
THANK YOU!!!!!! You are so sweet to comment. And excellent point that I don’t need to restrict my perfume-ing to just occasions, good call. I do just need to spend some time at Nordstrom and figure it out, great tip about the $10 sample. The last scent I bought a full size on I ended up not liking, what a waste. I want something light, fresh, slightly sweet maybe? I have to go shopping…
I *love* Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell! It’s not suffocatingly floral. I used to wear Chanel Chance, but it’s a bit bold for every day wear. So, for the last couple of years I’ve been wearing Narcisso Rodridgues for Her. I looooove it. Very subtle. Also, Sephora has little atomizers they’ll fill with a perfume for you (for free) if you want to test a fragrance for awhile. Good luck!
Oh thank you! I know, I need to take a field trip and test a bunch. Good to know about Sephora, too.
