She’s ONE! We can’t believe how fast this year has gone…and that our sweet baby girl is quickly becoming a wild climbing toddler! I thought I would share a visual recap of her birthday party with you…she had a blast and LOVED her cake!
The theme of the party was sock monkeys because our little one is such a monkey using her feet and toes as she plays as much has her hands. Then the color theme was the four colors you see below. I didn’t decorate too much, here was the focal point…
The silver balloon is a GIANT #1. And plush sock monkeys served a dual role of balloon weight and party favor.
Here are some close-ups, all the decorations were easy, cheap, and on theme!
I made sock monkeys using white chocolate to trace the outline with sprinkles on top to add color.
Once the chocolate sets, it’s very easy to get the monkeys (or whatever shape) off the wax paper.
I got one of those paper tablecloths from iparty and stamped the little sock monkey all over it.
I used the chocolate monkeys to decorate the cake…
and made letters using the same technique with the white chocolate and sprinkles. And this post from Oh Happy Day was SO helpful to me to finally frost a smooth cake.
Happy Birthday to our little monkey!!
